Slayer
London
A love letter to NYC pizza culture in the heart of Notting Hill.
London has fallen for crispy-base, marinara-heavy, NYC-style pizzas, so praise be to Slayer. A slice shop and restaurant, it’s dedicated to pizza-making as the art form it is, with a meticulous process of pre-fermentation, carefully controlled temperatures, premium Italian ingredients, and a special hand-folding ritual (!) that guarantees no flop, just crunch.
Manning the hallowed pizza oven is Naples-born Angelo Cassata, who serves up classic pizzas like pepperoni and vodka alongside house specials like ‘The 226’. Take a seat at the counter for a slice or head to the restaurant to have your za with a cocktail followed by a classic Italian dessert.
Why we love it
The Vibe: A casual yet refined spot for people who take their pizza (but not themselves) seriously
The Food: NYC-style pies with creamy sauces, charred bases and bubbling crusts
The Drink: Cocktails, craft beer and Italian-only wines
