Where to go in
June
Don’t care for kids? Or rather, don’t care to share sun loungers with toddlers when you’re chilling with a spritz? Better get your sliders on then. June is your last chance for poolside peace before the school holidays hit. Get the party started in Ibiza, when all the clubs are properly kicking off, plus you can get some sweet 50% off deals for our new hotels there. As for the European cities, June is when they start to have that pre-summer buzz and aren’t so crowded and sweltering that site-seeing takes on an endurance test feel. Be there when Nice, London, Berlin and Florence come to life.
Nice
Nice is the ideal base to explore this most chic of coastlines. We love this bohemian city for its laidback, cultural vibe and there’s plenty to explore and do. June is when the season really kicks off along the Côte d'Azur, with buzzing beach clubs, festivals and markets bringing the pretty streets and promenades to life. To mark the start of the summer, the Port of Nice celebrates its annual festival with live music, parades and fireworks. The ballet also pirouettes into town with Ballet Nice Méditerranée presenting an outdoor edition of its master classes – catch extracts from famous ballets for free. Keeping things sporty, the Olympic Flame arrives in Nice on 18th June. If you’re more of a Provencal rose participant than triathlete then pitch up on a terrace along the Promenade des Anglais to support the athletes as they race past. As for where to stay, our brand new Mama Shelter opens on 13 June bringing with it Riviera art, a rooftop pool and a riot of colour. You can be first to visit with an incroyable 50% off. A Nice no brainer, surely?

Berlin
Parks, outdoor swimming pools, festivals, open-air events…Berlin really comes into its own in June. If music’s your thing, every year on 21 June, Berliners celebrate the beginning of summer with an open-air music festival, Fête de la Musique. Meanwhile the Kreuzberg Festival is a three-day (28-30) open air street festival with food, art and stages hosting everything from theatre to jazz in the city’s coolest corner. Elsewhere in culture, there’s the Berlin Book Festival attracting the international literary crowd, Architecture Days (29-30), where the Berlin Chamber of Architects invites Berliners and visitors to discover the building culture of the capital by opening the doors to their latest projects. You might also have heard of the Euros? Footie fans might want to think about making the pilgrimage for the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship. The final and five other matches will be played in Berlin. So quite the month to visit Berlin.

London
Ah London in June...the sun is shining (sometimes, anyway) and this buzzing capital city becomes London al fresco – everyone enjoying the parks, having a pint outside the pubs in Soho, eating al fresco. It’s a joy. There’s also a lot of cultural happenings, including – scream! – the Taylor Swift Eras tour coming to town between 21st – 23rd June. Design afficionados can enjoy the Design Biennale practically all month long between the 5th and 29th, and it’s London Pride festival on the 29th. As for where to stay, you’re spoiled for choice and can pick your preferred part of town. There’s a neighbourhood Hoxton in every compass point of the city from rock ‘n’ roll Shepherd’s Bush out West to Shoreditch in hipsterville East. Or treat yourself to the 5-star experience in one of our legendary Morgans Originals hotels, like Sanderson and St Martin’s Lane, smack bang in the West End and brimming with mischievous possibility.

Florence
Yes, Florence is a legendary city with some of the world’s most astonishing art, history and cuisine but it’s also mega busy to the point of being a bit of a pain to get around in the high summer months. So, June is your chance to wander those wondrous streets without feeling like you’re being shepherded around a busy festival site. June also brings some events that are definitely worth timing your trip for, too. Style lover? Join the beautiful people for the international menswear shows of Pitti Uomo between 11th – 14th June – your Instagram will thank you for it. From fashion to fiesta, San Giovanni day, on 24 June, is a celebration for Florence’s patron saint, with a parade, fireworks and Italian feelgood vibes. Cycling fans might want to check out the Grand Départ of the Tour de France, on 29th June - the first Italian starting point in the history of the Tour, so a pretty big deal for Lycra lovers. Generally though, think hot (but not stifling) days, clear skies and a whole lot of la dolce vita.

Ibiza
Best month to ‘do’ Ibiza? June, hands-down. The sun is hot but not searing so you can enjoy taking road trips around this bountiful island (it’s not all about clubbing you know) and discover the most bohemian, tucked away beaches like Pou d’es Lleo and Port de ses Caletes in the north. The island’s still relatively quiet, compared to the July/August madness so you spend more time enjoying, less time queuing. It’s also the vibe. There’s that expectant pre-party atmosphere, like the whole summer’s stretching ahead and, who knows what could happen? Looking for other reasons? You can get an unbelievable deal on two of our newest, most stylish, five-star hotels – 50% off Mondrian and Hyde but only in June. What are you waiting for?
