Where to go in
February
Love is in the air but not in the way you might think. February may be synonymous with romance, thanks to Valentine's Day (and we will serve you that), but here at Dis-loyalty we’re in love with discovering new adventures at the perfect moment to seek them out. Time to shake off the cold, dark days and invigorate your new year energy with a stylish and surprising getaway.
Whether you're seeking sun-drenched beaches in the Maldives, cultural exploration in London, or romantic city escapes to Paris or Rome, we've curated the top destinations to visit in February 2025.
Rome
Rome in February is a bellissimo mix of culture, festive charm, and – yes! – romance. It’s a lovers’ no-brainer - the pasta! The wine! The dreamy piazzas and all-round vibes. You can also see the skull of Saint Valentine at Santa Maria in Cosmedin, which won’t factor into a lot of people’s Valentine’s Day plans. Cooler weather and fewer crowds also make it perfect for exploring iconic sites like the Colosseum (hello Gladiator), Vatican Museums and Roman Forum – especially in this ‘Jubilee Year’ where there are special activities that come only once every 25 years. Further, Carnevale (the pre-Lent festival of indulgence) fills the confetti-strewn streets with vibrant costumes, parades, and seasonal sweets like frappe. Finally, rugby fans won’t want to miss the Six Nations Championship from 8 February to 15 March.

Maldives
A trip to the Maldives is always a good idea but February stands out as one of the best times to visit. With clear blue skies, dry days, and perfect temperatures, the Maldives offers (even more) idyllic conditions. The brilliant sunshine transforms the water into a stunning turquoise, perfect for admiring the abundant sea life. It’s also an exceptional time for snorkelling and diving, with excellent visibility to spot marine wonders like manta rays, tiger sharks, and whale sharks. It’s all about the resort life, too, and SO/ Maldives is paradise re-imagined. This avant-garde private island resort features a statement collection of bespoke beachfront and over-water villas with panoramic views of the turquoise Emboodhoo Lagoon, just a 15-minute speedboat ride from Malé International Airport. We call it ‘Island couture’.

Paris
With Paris Fashion Week and Valentine’s Day on the agenda, February is a hot month to hit the City of Light. The fashion crowds add to the chic factor and with fewer tourists, you can enjoy iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, and newly restored Notre-Dame without the usual crowds. The crisp winter air adds a romantic touch, perfect for cosy strolls along the Seine, or exploring Montmartre’s cobbled streets and dreamy views from Sacré-Cœur. You can take the romantic meal for 2 to the next level, or keep it quintessentially simple with warming French classics like onion soup or hot chocolate at classic Parisian cafés. Art lovers won’t want to miss the opening of ‘Picasso, l’art en mouvement’ at the Atelier des Lumières, premiering on 13 February. As for where to stay, you’re spoiled for choice with bohemian Mama Shelter, fashion forward SO/ and culturally-connected Hoxton. Just take your pick.

London
Fashion, film and new cultural events… things are happening this month in London. With the Queen Elizabeth Park shaping up to be a real cultural hub, February sees the opening of Sadler’s Wells East – a brand new theatre for dance from the world-leading venue. Film afficionados will love BFI’s Future Film Festival from 20 February at the Southbank Centre, while fashion lovers can get involved with the buzz of fashion week events happening around town and check out ‘Vogue: Inventing the Runway’ at Lightroom. Head way out west for Kew Gardens’ Orchid Festival from 1 February to 1 March (stay at The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush for easy access). Another one to tick off the list if you haven’t already, is a spin on the London Eye celebrating 25 years this year. February is perfect for exploring London, just pick your favourite neighbourhood – we have a hotel for that!

Hong Kong
February is a particularly vibrant time to visit Hong Kong, thanks to the extended celebrations of Chinese New Year. The celebrations, spanning 16 days, transform the city with colourful parades in Tsim Sha Tsui and showstopping fireworks over Victoria Harbour. The Spring Lantern Festival marks the end of the Lunar New Year, illuminating parks and buildings with glowing lanterns and hosting lively carnivals at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Don’t miss a trip to Ngong Ping, where Buddhist culture meets nature. The cable car up the mountain is a treat in itself, but once you're there, you can visit the Po Lin Monastery, walk the Wisdom Path, and visit the second-largest sitting Buddha statue in the world. After all the exploring, retreat to Mondrian where culture meets cutting edge luxury and panoramic views over Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline.

Cologne
A trip to Cologne in February borders on the psychedelic thanks to its famous Carnival, one of the biggest in Europe. Known locally as Kölner Karneval, this colourful event transforms the city into a giant party, featuring parades, mind-bending costumes, and 24-7 music. Beyond Carnival, February's cooler weather makes it an ideal time to explore the city’s historic landmarks, like the spectacular gothic Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or hunker down in the charming Old Town with its quaint breweries serving traditional Kölsch beer. Our 25hours Hotel Cologne is located in the middle of the Friesenviertel district where you can admire the cathedral from the roof terrace then head around the corner to The Ludwig Museum for a contemporary art fix. Did we say the mini bar is free too? Dry January is over, after all.
