Dis-loyal Behaviour
No two members use Dis-loyalty the same way. Some use it for city breaks. Some for coffee breaks. Some for solo dinners, writing retreats or seeing more of the world for less. Dis-loyal Behaviour is our new series spotlighting the people behind the memberships, and the Personas shaping how they save.
JACK ROOKE, SAVINGS MAESTRO
BAFTA-winning Jack Rooke signed up to Dis-loyalty as a self-confessed late-night writer. What started with free mint teas in the lobby of The Hoxton, Holborn while writing quickly became a way to make travel feel more possible. “I feel like Dis-loyalty has become an accompaniment to my career in a way.” For Jack, the membership became more than perks. It became part of his creative routine: writing in hotel lobbies, discovering new places and finding inspiration in environments that helped him switch off and start writing.

CATCHING UP ON LOST TIME
For years, Jack avoided travelling because of a fear of flying. Now, he’s using Dis-loyalty to make up for it. From stays in Barcelona, Paris and Edinburgh to even planning future trips further afield to Australia and The States, Dis-loyalty has become part of this new chapter, one built around seeing more, spending less and saying yes more often. “I think Dis-loyalty has made me want to travel more.” And the savings helped too…

SERIOUS BRAGGING RIGHTS
While staying in the city for The Fringe, Jack had a stay at the then newly opened The Hoxton, Edinburgh that turned into the kind of story every member wants in the group chat. “In Edinburgh last year when I went and I got 50% off, I then just kept on bringing my mates to come and have a cup of tea and be like, hey! They were like ‘how are you staying here?!’” The verdict? “Because of Dis-loyalty I got 50% off. Serious bragging rights.”

SERIOUS SAVINGS
Jack originally signed up for the free barista-made drink. The savings came as a surprise. “I didn’t really realise I was getting loads of other perks.” Between discounted stays and those free mint teas, the numbers quickly started adding up: £3,722 saved so far, according to Jack’s Dis-loyalty stats. Not bad for someone who initially just wanted somewhere to write with a mint tea in hand. “I kind of feel like because I've saved nearly £4,000, it means that I could go away a bit more.”
