Boilerman Bar
Hamburg
The hip industrial feel and an array of signature highballs are a match made in maritime heaven at The Boilerman Bar.
The Boilerman Bar's pièce de résistance is the highball, which has its origins in the 19th century American railroad. Some say the drink was named after a signal to speed up, and it's apt that the concoction can be made - and finished - quickly.
But here, the highball is rightfully elevated. Patrons can sample the drink in myriad forms: as apéro, classic, rum-based or 'sappy,' which include more playful takes on the tipple.
Why we love it
The drink: Highballs stirred, not shaken, and always served in a frosty glass
The food: Light bites cheekily 'stolen' from Middle Eastern eatery, NENI
The vibe: Brooklyn by way of Hamburg — hip and low-lit, with lots of exposed brick
