Qissa
Ras Abrouq
Taste and tradition come together with modern flair at this farm-to-table restaurant.
Centred around an open coal and wood-fire grill, Qissa – meaning story in Arabic – champions traditional cooking techniques which allow the brilliant local produce sourced from neighbouring farms and fisheries to shine through.
With a calming indoor-outdoor flow, start the day with a hearty breakfast that includes Labneh Eggs and Date Scones. Continue for lunch and dinner at this all-day spot with open-fire specialties like the Peanut Lamb or enjoy a taste of the ocean with the Sea Salt Baked Catch of the Day. Round it all off with a decadent dessert – we’re partial to the Chamomile & Saffron Donut.
Why we love it
The Vibe: Minimalist elegance reflects the Arabian Gulf’s tranquil waters and mesmerising sunsets
The Food: Family-style dishes, designed for sharing
The Drink: House special cocktails, smoothies, and elixirs for a health kick

Where you'll be
Ras Abrouq
Here you’re on the prehistoric Qatari coastline, just an hour’s drive from Doha, renowned for its unusual formation of soaring white cliffs. Nearby is the UNESCO-protected Al Reem Biosphere – a semi-arid landscape that is home to populations of gazelles, ostriches and Arabian oryx, amongst other wildlife. Whether by foot, by car, or by bike, there are myriad ways to explore the neighbouring desert and the contemporary wonders it contains. Just a short drive away, you’ll come across American artist Richard Serra’s landmark installation East-West/West-East that comprises 4 monumental steel plates that loom amongst the sand dunes.
