Situated in an old movie palace, Mama Shelter pays homage to the original theatre with a 45-seat cinema where cult films are screened from Sunday to Wednesday. Bring the popcorn and catch a screening pre or post-meal, otherwise the rooftop terrace makes a great spot to indulge in aperitifs, snacks, and pizza whilst admiring city views.

Known as La Ville Rose (the pink city) for its terracotta-hued walls, Toulouse is the capital of the Occitania region in southwestern France. The city’s famous square, Place du Capital and the fine arts museum, the Musée des Augustins, are both just a short walk away. Go for a promenade down the banks of the River Garonne (stop for snaps on the Pont Neuf) and load up on local delicacies at the Marché Victor Hugo. History buffs should head straight for the Basilique Saint-Sernin, the largest Romanesque church in France, and the Couvent des Jacobins which dates back to the 13th century.
