Le Mary Celeste
Paris
Plenty of Paris bars dabble in small plates and cocktails, but none quite so convincingly as Le Mary Celeste.
Le Mary Celeste is named after a ship that sailed from New York in the 19th century only to be found adrift and abandoned with nothing but booze on board. Yes, the interiors have a nautical theme - think white-washed wood and a pastel colour palette of blue and green - but there’s not a hint of kitsch. It’s more cool and contemporary, with a buzzing scene of locals and visitors that come for the food as much as the cocktails.
Why we love it
The vibe: A happening scene of locals and foreigners in Paris’ fashionable Marais district
The food: Nuanced and beautifully put together small plates
The drink: Inspired and creative cocktails
