Farra brings a slice of the Aegean to Hyde Perth, drawing on the shared sunshine and coastal appetite of Western Australia and Greece. The name nods to happiness, beauty and a good party while the menu leans into the depth of Greek cooking, built around generous meze and produce-driven plates.
The house-baked koulouri and flatbread alongside tzatziki, tarama with smoked trout roe will instantly make you feel like an honourary Greek, and the fava finished with cherry tomato and beach herbs is an excellent choice too. The menu’s next level of flavour brings sardines with tomato and capers, loukaniko sausage with charred peppers, chicken souvlaki with ezme and smoked yoghurt, and a proper horiatiki Greek salad.
Expect a few indulgences too: saganaki with fermented honey and za’atar, fried calamari with tzatziki, and loukoumades – the beloved honey puff pastries generations of Greeks grew up with – with yoghurt, lavender and pistachio to finish. The drinks list follows suit, pairing Greek and Australian wines with cocktails built around masticha, Metaxa and citrus; expect to raise more than a few “ya mas” along the way.
