Barbue
Amsterdam
Vibrant cocktails that sing with the flavours of Buenos Aires.
Straight from the Roaring Twenties, Barbue serves up an electric list of cocktails that lives up to its location in this landmark building from the era. In what was originally the Royal Dutch Lloyd Shipping Company, fully preserved Art Deco touches, such as the ticket office, mezzanine balcony, and original light features, set the stage for some serious fun.
Curated by mixologist extraordinaire, Tato Giovannoni, founder of Floreria Atlantico in Buenos Aires, one of the World’s 50 Best Bars, the drinks fuse European and South American cultures together. Argentine amargos, including Hesperidina and Pineral, meet a taste of Europe, with an extensive selection of vermouths and bitters from this continent.
Why we love it
The Drinks: One-of-a-kind cocktail creations mixing innovative flavours and specialty spirits.
The Food: Bar bites inspired by Argentinean favourites – think chorizo choripáns and beef empanadas.
The Vibe: The spirit of Buenos Aires’ bare notables comes alive with a joyful atmosphere and live DJ sets on the weekends.
