Mama Shelter Paris East
Paris
The original Mama Shelter, making a scene all of its own in an off-the-beaten-path neighbourhood.
When it opened in 2008, Mama Shelter Paris East shook things up with its focus on shared spaces and experiences. Entering the lobby is a bit like gaining access to an exclusive club: the lights are dimmed, the staff are friendly, and the roof is covered in graffiti art. In front of the (very smiley) reception desk, the full collection of Mama’s merchandise is on display: hats and T-shirts, but also wrestling masks - you never know what you might need for a stay at Mama Shelter.
Head left to the lounge bar and restaurant, with a mixture of industrial metal and slouchy sofa seating, a series of statement tasselled lighting in one area, and a giant football table in another. The menu here is equally vibrant and exciting, with dishes such as sea bream ceviche, octopus roll, and black Angus ribeye. Up on the sixth floor is the roof terrace, with a definite secret garden feel, enclosed by plant-covered wooden trellises and illuminated at night by festoon lighting. Back down in your room, there’s a palette of black and white, plus signature accents like graphic carpeting and cartoon mask lampshades - which double as everyone's favourite Instagram prop.
35% off discount applies to stays 1st March - 31st May 2025.
