Oriole – long touted as one of the best bars in London – has entered its second phase with a relocation to Covent Garden. Now spread over two floors, version 2.0 also includes a more casual space for aperitvo-style cocktails, a proper food menu and a basement space that recalls the speakeasy atmosphere of the Smithfield original, with live music performances every night.

The addition of a new lab space means the cocktails at Oriole will continue their pioneering traditions, with inventive creations inspired by different continents and flavours. Start with their signature Acadia which unites bourbon with peanut butter and embark upon a voyage of discovery around the world. Larger groups should plump for their sharing cocktails – after all, this is clearly a more-is-more situation.
